Even More About Me!

Hello, and welcome to The Scattered Musings of a Common Gentleman!
I’m sure that all five of you who are reading this right now are probably thinking: “Man, what a great blog so far! These hilarious words are making me laugh! I’d really love to know more about this ‘gentleman guy’ who’s writing it!” Well, guess what. It’s your lucky day. And even if you really don’t want to know anything about me, too bad, because I feel like there should be a somewhat-biographical entry at the beginning of my blog... Ya know, so people know my credentials and stuff...
MY VAST CREDENTIALS:

I currently hold a PhD in English from the prestigious school of I Actually Have No Credentials. Haha, just kidding. As you could tell from the joke, I don’t actually have a PhD. But I am in college. I’m currently getting my BSE in Education, and my BA in English. NOW LAUGH, IT WAS A FUNNY JOKE.
MORE STUFF ABOUT ME:

Yes, I know that I already have an “about-me” thing over there, but this is going to be a bit more detailed. So on a more serious note; I come from a fairly average-sized family. I’ve got a mom, a dad, two brothers and a little sister (she’s the baby of the family). I gotta say that I really, absolutely love them all. They are amazing and wonderful; I can’t even describe how much they have had a positive impact on my life. That’s not to mention the quite formidable amount of extended family I have. I love all of them immensely as well. Not to brag or anything, but I am amazed at how well my family communicates. Everybody loves to talk to everybody else, there are few boundaries. Sometimes this leads to instances where we even communicate a little too much... (THESE CERTAIN INCIDENTS I WILL NOT MENTION... BECAUSE I AM A GENTLEMAN). But in all seriousness, I absolutely love them all. I believe we all genuinely love one another. I could not have asked for better parents, and that is a huge blessing.
So now that I’ve scared people off by talking about my family, I see that only the true gentlemen are left. Well that’s great because this next section is... intense...
EVEN MORE STUFF ABOUT ME THAT IS NOT MY FAMILY:

Can I talk about my friends now?....... Well, you didn’t answer, so I’ll assume you said yes. And anyway, I talked about my family, and you survived through that, so what’s the worst that could happen? As you can probably by now guess, I love my friends too (cheerful much?). Throughout my life I have met a lot of people who I have at some point considered to be my friend. The sad part (OOOHHH! A sad part!) is that I probably don’t even know half of these people now. No matter how cliché it sounds, the truth is that people come and go. The happy part is that I have stayed in contact with most of my closest friends throughout the years. I have also come across some very wonderful new friends in the recent years of my life and I am very blessed to know every single one of them. I would just like to be hip and send a shout-out to all of my friends from college and all of my friends from the home-school group (including the parents). I wouldn’t be the man I am today without you guys. (Not that I’ve made some amazing accomplishment or that I really have any particular reason to come out and thank you guys, I just wanted to say that you guys are awesome).
MORE CONTENT:

So what will you actually be reading about on this blog? Hmm. Good question. Maybe I should have put this one first...
Well, I wanted to make this a blog about things that inspire me... So here are some topics: Families, friends, art, music, Faith, Hope, Love, food, video games, graphic novels, movies, TV shows, other forms of literature, miracles and marriage. I have definitely seen inspiring examples of all of these in my life, (Yes, I have tasted inspiring food) and I am prompted to believe that they are all reflections of something higher...
Speaking of which...
Oh, yeah. You knew it was coming. You knew I was bound to get “religious” at some point. Well, here goes: I simply believe that 1. There must be some kind of first cause to the universe and 2. Yes, there is pain in the world. So much pain. I am aware of it, even though it might not seem like I am. Who isn’t? But at the same time, there is goodness and beauty in the world. And that, that I believe is worth fighting for. (I love Lord of the Rings, might as well just get that out there). And if we acknowledge that there is goodness and beauty in the world that is worth fighting for, then it follows that our hearts yearn to know where that goodness and beauty comes from. I believe it comes from God. It must come from God. Also, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. I believe that the epitome of goodness and beauty was the God of the Universe actually coming down to our level, and dying for us. That is the ultimate inspiration. I owe everything to Him.

Well, I’ve gone from not really serious to very serious. What a wild ride. Kudos to you if you stayed for the whole thing. Here’s a LOTR video as a reward- (I do not own this video)
